Homes for LIFE

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

Homes for LIFELord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will listen to their cries and comfort them.” (Psalm 10:17)

In Nicaragua, we’re not just building a house, we’re fulfilling a dream for families…the dream of owning a REAL HOME! With your support, our Homes for LIFE outreach will build 300 brand new homes for families and children living in extreme poverty. These concrete homes are built to last a minimum of 25 years in the roughest weather conditions. To provide a home for only $3,600 means your gift goes a long way! (more…)

Listening To God!

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Wonderful night in the attic! Students coming in last night first noticed the major change in the setup, we did the entire service “in the round” completly surrounding the somewhat stripped down band. We hope to have a few pictures up here on the site soon. The acoustic sounds of worship were amazing and Jeffrey King did a wonderful job last night as our guest speaker, his stories dealing with spending time with God and having a daily quiet time were awsome reminders of where we place our priorities. Don’t forget to look for the needle!!!

Sunday

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Why do we do the things we do? Why do we go to church or give money away? Because we’re supposed to or because we think God needs it? Do we honestly put on our best clothes for an hour once a week, stand and sit at all the right times, and sing all the appropriate songs for God’s sake, or because it’ll make us look better to the world around us? We’re tired of all the empty rituals and routines. And so is God. God hates it when we call ourselves Christians but ignore all the things he really cares about. He hates it when we go through hollow religious routines out of some feeling of duty or obligation. God doesn’t want the meaningless rituals. God wants our hearts.

Well, I’ve known my drummer for the better part of his life and mine, about 17 or 18 years to be exact, we’ve played a LOT of services in the recent years since I returned from college and took over as worship leader. In that time we’ve had lots of great stories and experiences, I must say I will miss him greatly!

Aaron’s Last Stand

Saturday, September 15th, 2007
Get the Flash Player to see the wordTube Media Player.
This is a live video of Aaron’s last Wednesday night as our house drummer. We had a total of five cameras and two operators, the film was directed by Josh Josey and Lillie Dykes and edited by Marc Lewis and Josh Josey. This was a fun night and I’m glad the camera’s were rolling, you might notice that Beau was not present, he was working at the ole TSC that night but keyboards were played via click tracks by Francis 3rd AKA Marc’s I-pod. We were having problems playing with the “Let My Words Be Few” tracks so we decided to play without them, this is why our sound is somewhat thinner on that song, the keyboard’s low end works wonders on a phat sound. Hope you enjoy the video, feel free to comment. For those who may not attend our Wednesday evening services, this is what our services look like every week!
