Great first night for the Revive series kick off if you were unable to attend we certainly hope you can make it out next week. Michael wrapped up the natural disasters series, touching briefly on serveral key points made by Ed Newton and moved into the book of James, dealing with pain in our lives and how we deal with that pain. We have a wednesday night name change coming this week, BOOST is out and H2O is in, in celebration of the name change we ask everyone to wear BLUE and WHITE this coming wednesday night for the offical H2O kickoff. We have been blessed over the past few weeks to have had Ed Newton with us. Through Ed’s series on Natural Disasters (Anger & Pride) God has begun to work in many of our lives. However, some of you may be asking, “Well, I know God is at work in my life, but what do I do next?” Over the next five weeks, (Jan 30th – Feb 27th) we will begin to look at what we need to do next. In the next series, REVIVE, we will be taking a look at the book of James. This book can best be described as a Christian’s Practical Guide for Living and Fellowship. Through this book, we will cover many different topics like: Trials & Temptation, Favoritism, Taming the Tongue, Submission to God, and Faith & Works. Well it was the final night of our Natural Disasters Series here in the attic, I hope you all enjoyed Ed Newton, we thank him very much for all the help he’s given us this Fall. We are excited to announce that we’ll be starting a new series next week called “REVIVE” Michael will be leading the series dealing with relationships, studying the book of James. Of course the band will be heading up some incredible worship along with extreme (sometimes silly) games and great giveaways. I hope you’ll join us next week for the “REVIVE” series. Our second night of Natural Disasters was absolutely incredible! We had 99 people upstairs in the attic and Ed Newton was back from his recent spell with the flu. The topic dealt with  anger and holding grudges against friends, family, and piers. If you were unable to attend we missed you and hope you return next week for our third and final night of this series. We had a great first week in our new series, Natural Disasters we’d like to thank Sammy N. for filling in with the first installment, keep Ed in your prayers this week as he slowly recovers from the flu, we look forward to seeing him next week. Michael also joined us last night, he and Lindsay made it into town Monday and are currently unpacking and getting settled into their new home. You are not gonna want to miss the next three Wednesday nights in the attic. Ed Newton has been preparing an incredible series called “Natural Disasters” and it starts this coming Wednesday night! The topics we’ll be discussing deal with everyday problems that you as teens face, jealousy, anger, and pride. As always it will be a treat to hear Ed’s take on these topics and what God has laid on his heart. Michael and Lindsay will also be moving into town this coming week and we are so excited and can’t wait for them to get settled and plugged in here at Desoto Hills Baptist. We are also heading towards a Wednesday night service NAME CHANGE which we will unveil at the conclusion of the Natural Disasters series. The “Boost” service name will get a much needed makeover and we’ll be telling you about that soon.
