WOW what great energy we had in the attic last night! I was super excited and impressed with the students and enthusiasm of the room, God is working in great and mighty ways through our students and this upcoming generation. Last night was our third week of the “Big Picture” series and Michael took us through the Adam/Eve and fall of man story. I was constantly reminded last night of God’s amazing grace and how little we deserve it… MAN that’s something to think about! Here’s the lineup…

Well we officially kicked off the fall H2O services last night with the start of our newest series “The Big Picture”. Michael gave us a broad overview of the path we’ll be taking with this study and many of the ideas we’ll visit. I’m excited to have the opportunity to stand back and be able to take such a large glance at the bible as a whole… SUPER COOL! The full band was back last night, we look forward to having all the guys with us this month. Casey will be heading out with Leeland starting in September and we’re blessed to have Caleb who’ll be stepping into the lead guitar shoes when Casey’s away. Here’s what happened last night!

School is back! I know for many this is a very sad day, but I want you to think about something. While school does bring extra work and stress to your life, it also brings great opportunities. It seems like year after year more and more Americans are “hardening their hearts” toward God, especially teenagers. Every teen in being pulled and tempted by a hundred different things this world has to offer. The world tempts you with fame, sex, and money and the world says that life is all about these things. Someone(s) needs to step up and speak up about the lies of this world and the real Truth of Jesus Christ. You may think that this is the job of a youth pastor and you would be right. I will do my best to teach and reach out to the lost teens of DeSoto County, along with many other great youth ministers in our area. However, we cannot reach a lot of the students on your school’s campus. We are very limited in what we can do and say on a school campus, BUT YOU’RE NOT. I hope you can see and understand how big of an opportunity you have everyday of school. You are around so many teens that have never set foot in a church and have never heard about Jesus Christ & salvation. Teens that are hurting and that need real help. By your life and by your words you will have an impact on those around you. THAT IS A FACT! Will your impact lead them to Christ or away from Christ?
