The Marc Lewis Band has been busy playing for youth groups around the state, leading students to the throne of God. The band’s home church is right here at Desoto Hills and we have the incredible oprotunity to lead our church family on Sunday and Wednesday nights. Recently the band began leading a popular children’s service (High 5) on Sunday mornings a couple of times each month. We’ll be kicking off the upcoming holidays with the new series “Spiritual Gifts” and YES Michael has stated that he will be touching on some of the contoversial subjects like the gift of tongues. You are definatly not going to want to miss out on this series. We kick it off this week (Nov. 11) in the attic, See you there!

This Wednesday, July 15 we will be meeting over at the Baker’s house on 3209 Marcia Louise Drive in Southaven.  At 6:00 PM we will be preparing care packages for a local nursing home.  We have a lot to make, so WE NEED YOUR HELP!  After we finish with the kits, we will be having hotdogs & jumping into the pool.  Things will be wrapped up around 8 PM.

This summer we are doing things a little different.  We will NOT be meeting at the church on Wednesday nights.  We will be having our youth worship service in church member homes.  This is going to be a more relaxed, bible study and worship time.  There will also be some hangout fellowship as well.  So come on out with your friends and your Bibles to H2O: Chilled from 6 pm till 8 pm. July 1 & 8 we will be at the Rushton House, which is located on 4799 Penny Cove in Southaven. For directions see the calendar.

Some drinks and snacks will be provided, but not anything that would qualify as a meal.

This Friday Night from 7pm till 10pm we are opening up the youth attic at DeSoto Hills for you and your friends to come and hang out. This is an open attic, so you are free to come for the whole time or only 15 minutes. We will have plenty of stuff for you to do like: video games, board games, pool, air hockey, ULTIMATE PONG, and much more. Come on out on this Friday night and hang with us here at DeSoto Hills! Merry Christmas Desoto Hills! Several of our very own musicians recorded this christmas song as a special gift for those of you visiting the website. We placed the music to a slideshow of our church family, we hope you enjoy watching video. You may also download the song to your music library on your computer or burn it to a cd to enjoy whenever you like. The song was mixed by producer Jim Barnes and produced by Marc Lewis and includes the amazing dobro playing by Casey Moore. We have a lot of great ministries going on at DeSoto Hills Baptist Church and within the youth ministry. One new ministry we have just started for students is youth discipleship. This is not just another form of Sunday School. The purpose of discipleship is to provide an opportunity for committed Christians to grow in their faith and relationship with God through close, small group relationships, Bible study, accountability, and hands on application (missions). My hope and prayer is that discipleship will become the heartbeat of the youth ministry at DeSoto Hills Baptist, and that you will commit to being apart of the ministry on a weekly basis!

Classes meet Sunday afternoon @ 4:30pm on the second floor of the church.

NOTE: The 11th & 12th grade guys and girls classes are changing their discipleship group to meet at another day, time, and place. I will let you know what they decide. Any questions please call the church @ 890-2452.

We will be working at Bibles for China from 12pm to 5pm. Please be at the church by 11:20am! You will need to eat lunch before you go! All you need to bring are closed-toe shoes and an attitude to work hard!
