H2O youth service recorded Wednesday night on August 18th 2010. The second night of the new “Big Picture” series at the desoto hills baptist 3rd floor attic. Michael Bucy speaking and the Marc Lewis Band leading worship.

As you may now notice we do video our Wednesday night services from time to time and this video was done during our 6 week series, REVIVE! This just happens to be Michael Bucy’s first series and our first video of the 2008 year. I really liked the lighting scheme we had going for this particular series, the white screen on the back wall with the LED color lighting really made the stage sort of pop. I also decided to edit a more stylish intro than we normally produce, the keyboard intro was done in the studio during post production, it was not playing before the actual service as it appears on the video.

Facts About Nicaragua:

50% of the population in Nicaragua lives in overcrowded housing with 3 or more people per room. Most do not own their own houses.

83% of the homes are self-constructed and built from scrap and other discarded materials. 43% have earthen floors.

75% of the targeted population is malnourished. 27% of the children are underweight, comparable to areas in central and eastern Africa.

The dirt floors and unclean water create a cycle of deteriorating health. Ear, eye and skin infections are prevalent in children and many of the water sources are contaminated, leading to cholera, dysentery and, in some cases, death.

Good housing provides the first steps toward better health and a better family life. Project HOPE homes will shelter a family from the environment with concrete floors, solid walls and a reliable roof, providing a place of rest and safety.

Well we have a brand new (web exclusive) video series called “Stories”, in this series we’ll visit different staff and church members and hear their life story. This series especially excites me because I enjoy getting to know people and hearing interesting facts and bits about their lives. I decided to start with my own, as you will see in the video I have recently noticed the massive amounts of new faces within our church family and many of you may not know how I came to be a worship leader at Desoto Hills and I wanted to share that with you. I hope you enjoy, we’ll have more “Stories” coming soon…

Well, I’ve known my drummer for the better part of his life and mine, about 17 or 18 years to be exact, we’ve played a LOT of services in the recent years since I returned from college and took over as worship leader. In that time we’ve had lots of great stories and experiences, I must say I will miss him greatly!

Without Adam we could not have the look we have on Wednesday nights. He single handedly runs the entire live
