We have a lot of great ministries going on at DeSoto Hills Baptist Church and within the youth ministry. One new ministry we have just started for students is youth discipleship. This is not just another form of Sunday School. The purpose of discipleship is to provide an opportunity for committed Christians to grow in their faith and relationship with God through close, small group relationships, Bible study, accountability, and hands on application (missions). My hope and prayer is that discipleship will become the heartbeat of the youth ministry at DeSoto Hills Baptist, and that you will commit to being apart of the ministry on a weekly basis!

Classes meet Sunday afternoon @ 4:30pm on the second floor of the church.

NOTE: The 11th & 12th grade guys and girls classes are changing their discipleship group to meet at another day, time, and place. I will let you know what they decide. Any questions please call the church @ 890-2452.

This Wednesday we will be taking a work crew over to the Bibles for China Thrift Store at the Horn Lake location. This will be a all day event, so it will replace our Wednesday night H2O worship service. I REPEAT, there is no Wednesday night youth service!

We will be working at Bibles for China from 12pm to 5pm. Please be at the church by 11:20am! You will need to eat lunch before you go! All you need to bring are closed-toe shoes and an attitude to work hard!

There will be no youth H2O service on Wednesday, June 25. Lots of us will be gone to Florida all week for Sun-Power camp! Please be praying for us, and I hope to see everyone on July 2 when we go help the Bibles for China Thrift Store.

Well, it’s once again that time of year and student life tour is BACK!!! We are so excited about SL tour this year and we want you to be a part. The dates are Feb. 15-16 and guests include the AMAZING David Platt, Spur 58, JR Vasser, and a concert by Jeremy Riddle. You are NOT going to want to miss our on this weekend and I encourage you to begin making plans to attend. For those who may not know how SL tour works, we basically leav the church Friday around 4p.m., return that night around 10p.m. and leave the church early Saturday morning for the final Saturday sessions. The tour will be held at Belview Baptist Church in the Germantown area and cost is $55 + a few meals. We will be taking a bus and several vehicles, SPACE IS LIMITED! Make sure you sign up and pay quickly so you can reserve your spot!

Well, I’ve known my drummer for the better part of his life and mine, about 17 or 18 years to be exact, we’ve played a LOT of services in the recent years since I returned from college and took over as worship leader. In that time we’ve had lots of great stories and experiences, I must say I will miss him greatly!
